San Fernando Road Bikepath Ph 1 runs along the Metrolink easement in San Fernando Road between Roxford Street and Hubbard Street in Sylmar area. The Bikepath is about 12 feet wide, with pedestrian lights, new trees, and landscaped elements along the entire 1.8 miles length. A 6-ft high security fence is also installed between the existing Metrolink rails and the bikepath alignment for cyclist and pedestrian safety reason. This project is the first of a 3-phases bikepath program providing a continuous 10-mile long bicycle corridor between Sylmar and the City of Burbank. The S F Rd Bikepath Ph 1 project was financed by LADOT with Engineering Division staffs responsible for design and construction management services.
